Both parts of the coin are connected by an orbit with planet Earth.

Around the circumference of the coin, in an open legend, is the denomination with the currency abbreviation "200 Kč" and the name of the state "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA". The Czech Mint mark, consisting of the letters "Č" and "M", is placed in the centre of planet Earth.

The reverse of the two-hundred-crown coin is dominated by a depiction of the Sun, at the centre of which is the emblem of the Czech Astronomical Society with the years "1917 – 2017". Along the outer circumference of the sun's rays, an orbit with planet Earth is depicted. Around the circumference of the coin, the legend reads "ZALOŽENÍ ČESKÉ ASTRONOMICKÉ SPOLEČNOSTI" (Founding of the Czech Astronomical Society).

The initials of the coin's designer MgA. Josef Oplištil, consisting of the conjoined letters "J" and "O", are placed in the centre of planet Earth.
