The obverse of the coin features in the left half of the coin field the impressions of four cylinder seals discovered by Bedřich Hrozný in ancient Kanesh. In the upper right half of the coin field is a composition of three heraldic animals from the Great Coat of Arms in shields – at the top is the Czech lion, and below it side by side are the Moravian eagle and the Silesian eagle.
Below the heraldic animals is the signature of Bedřich Hrozný, which extends over the second cylinder seal from the bottom. Below the heraldic animals is the name of the state "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA" and the denomination with the currency abbreviation "200 Kč". The Czech Mint mark, consisting of a composition of the letters "Č" and "M", is along the bottom edge of the coin.
The motif of the reverse is a portrait of Bedřich Hrozný against the background of a cuneiform text containing the sentence that gave Bedřich Hrozný the first impulse towards deciphering the Hittite language. At the lower right edge of the portrait, the text "VA-A-TAR...VODA…" (VA-A-TAR...WATER…) is arranged in two lines.
Below the portrait, the text "BEDŘICH HROZNÝ" and "ROZLUŠTĚNÍ CHETITŠTINY" (Decipherment of Hittite) is arranged in three lines. The word "ROZLUŠTĚNÍ" is delimited by dots at the beginning and at the end. To the left of the word "ROZLUŠTĚNÍ" is the year "1915", and to the right is the year "2015".
Along the bottom edge of the coin are the initials of the coin's designer, academic painter Vladimír Pavlica, consisting of the conjoined letters "VP".
